Morrison House Alexandria Wedding

Zeke and Kat’s wedding celebration was held at the majestic and classically appointed  Morrison House in Old Town Alexandria. A small, private affair with their closest friends and family, this was a wedding very close to our hearts, not only because it was practically held in our backyard, but because we happen to have a soft spot for small weddings. The day started out like any other, with our beautiful bride, calm and serene and beaming, being helped into her dress by a tearful mother, while her best friends cheered her on.

An ever-so-slightly nervous groom awaited his bride-to-be, in the shade of a wall covered in blush pink rose vines. The first glimpse of her in that white dress took his breath away, and as usual, the emotional moment of their “first look” took our breath away! And although the bride was radiant and the groom dashing, we would be amiss if we didn’t mention the loveliest little flower girl in that beautiful floral crown, her two front teeth missing.

Cherry Blossom Alexandria Engagement

paola + ryan

postheaderlines

Ryan and Paola drove five hours from New York, to get to their springtime engagement session with us. But Washington D.C. is just as famous for its unpredictable weather as it is those majestic cherry blossoms, and as luck would have it,  it started raining cats and dogs just as they pulled up in front of us. The panic in their eyes was evident. Not the type to be easily deterred, we simply pulled an umbrella out of our trunk, and got started. And sure enough, a few thoroughly soaked minutes later, the sun started to peek our from behind the clouds, and all was well in the world once again.alexandria virginia washington d.c. rain engagement spring cherry blossom alexandria virginia washington d.c. rain engagement spring cherry blossom alexandria virginia washington d.c. rain engagement spring cherry blossom alexandria virginia washington d.c. rain engagement spring cherry blossom alexandria virginia washington d.c. rain engagement spring cherry blossom alexandria virginia washington d.c. rain engagement spring cherry blossom alexandria virginia washington d.c. rain engagement spring cherry blossom alexandria virginia washington d.c. rain engagement spring cherry blossomAll that rain turned Paola’s perfectly styled hair into soft, glorious curls, and the stray droplets on my precious camera turned my lens into a crazy, beautiful prism that played wildly with every ray of sunshine that peeked through from behind the blossoms. Nothing went as planned, and everything was magic. We wouldn’t have had it any other way!

Patapsco Park Maryland Engagement

He’s a tennis coach. She works at a golf course. They both love the great outdoors. They’re funny, genuine, and in love. And then, there’s Miles the senior beagle. Throw in a waterfall and a couple of vintage bikes on a lonely trail, and you’ve got the recipe for a beautiful afternoon. Doug and Kim enjoy going for long hikes and being surrounded by nature, and Patapsco Park, with its serene, unspoiled beauty, was the perfect choice for their engagement session.

Remember Pat and Shannon, our gorgeous couple from NYC who love everything urban? We had a feeling their wedding was going to be a thoroughly stylish and modern ode to their love, inspired by Washington D.C. And right we were! From monogrammed robes, to walks through the city, and from a rooftop ceremony overlooking the White House, to a stunning reception at The Newseum, every detail was perfection. Shannon, you see, is an event planner for none other than the NFL, so of course, with the help of the lovely ladies over at H J Planners, every element of the day was planned to perfection.newseum washington d.c. wedding photography 2014-08-28_0030 newseum washington d.c. wedding photography 2014-08-28_0032 newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photography newseum washington d.c. wedding photographyAnd what a magnificent ending to a 10-hour-long wedding it was! Alexandria Confetti Party Engagement

anastasia + johnny

postheaderlines

The first thing anyone would notice about Anastasia and Johnny, is their exuberance. Laughter and light follow them around wherever they tread. When we first met them, it was as if we were sitting across the table from old friends. It was clear that they were madly in love, and had been, in fact, since they were teenagers. What was also clear was their zest for life- they approached every day as if it were a reason to celebrate something wonderful and joyous. So why not make their session into just that- a party for two, filled with confetti, balloons and cupcakes!alexandria virginia engagement wedding photography confetti alexandria virginia engagement wedding photography confetti alexandria virginia engagement wedding photography confetti alexandria virginia engagement wedding photography confetti alexandria virginia engagement wedding photography confettialexandria virginia engagement wedding photography confetti
